SAVE THE DATE: Jewish Meditation Retreat in Los Angeles Scheduled for August 19, 2018

Please join Mindful Judaism for a Jewish Mindfulness Meditation Daylong Retreat on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles this summer! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Jewish Mindfulness Meditation and contemplative prayer, ask any questions you may have, and practice in sacred community. All of the details are below!

Who?

This Jewish Mindfulness Meditation Daylong Retreat is co-sponsored by MindfulJudaism.com, Rabbi Ariel Sholklapper, Temple Beth Am, Ikar Los Angeles, and B’nai David-Judea Congregation.

This retreat will be co-led by Dr. Adam G. Fogel and Rabbi Ariel Sholklapper. Both Adam and Ariel are experienced meditators and graduates of the Institute for Jewish Spiritualty’s Jewish Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Program.

Dr. Adam G. Fogel is a practicing Psychologist and founder of MindfulJudaism.com. He has practiced Zen meditation for over 20 years and studies with Fr. Greg Mayers Roshi in the Sanbo Zen tradition. He is especially interested in the interface of Zen wisdom, Depth Psychology, and contemplative Judaism and is dedicated to helping you nurture a deep, personal, and meaningful Jewish spirituality.

Rabbi Ariel Sholklapper has attended, managed, and facilitated retreats and mindfulness meditation groups all over the world. His passion is in helping people of all walks of life to live with vigor and personal, spiritual awareness through mindfulness and Jewish living.

What?

If you ever felt like things aren’t going quite the way you want, you are not alone! Come and join us in a Jewish Mindfulness Meditation Daylong Retreat where you will learn and practice Jewish Mindfulness Meditation and sacred chant in community, explore how to find personal and spiritual meaning through direct experience, and engage life fully.

Meditation is thousands of years old. The true gift of meditation is not an escape from life, but in realizing that true respite comes from acknowledging life as it is and accepting yourself as you are.

Jewish Mindfulness can help you develop and enhance your love and compassion for yourself and others, and perhaps even God. It is the practice of noticing the sacred in our life. Jewish Mindfulness Meditation begs us to pay attention to our life just as it is!

Meditation instructions and a kosher lunch will be provided. There will also be time for questions and answers. This daylong immersion in mindfulness will be conducted in social silence and is open to participants of any religious or spiritual background and all levels of familiarity with meditation.
